7-Eleven Thin Crust Pizza (Supreme)

I haven't eaten any frozen pizza for a couple of weeks. Rather than not post (like I elected not to do last Friday) I'm going to reach back into my archives several years and write about a pizza I ate a long time ago. So I do not have as many photos of it.

Christmas Eve, 2016. I had been invited over to the house of a lady friend after her family had left for the evening. She asked if I could pick up a bottle of wine on the way. The usual store to which I would go (Ralph's) had closed for the evening. There was a 7-Eleven a couple of blocks away, so I opted to go there.

I sent a text to my friend "Do you have anything to eat at your house?" She replied "Not really."

So, in addition to a bottle of Malbec, I picked up a frozen 7-Eleven brand pizza.

At least this will be better than Wendy's, I thought to myself (Wendy's being the only fast food place nearby that was open).

It turned out, the pizza was delicious. Partly because I wasn't expecting much out of it, but mostly because it was, well, delicious.

The amount of toppings was meager, as you can see, but they actually tasted fresher than any frozen pizza toppings that I could remember, particularly the peppers. If they hadn't been so skimpy, this would legitimately receive a four-star rating.

So I ate the whole thing. After we finished the bottle of wine, I looked in my friend's fridge to see if she had any beers. There was a giant platter of homemade tamales.

"When I asked if you had anything to eat, why didn't you tell me you had tamales?" I inquired.

"Because I thought you didn't like tamales," she replied.

I don't know where she got that idea. Who the fuck doesn't like tamales?
